2. Do I need to renew IEC every year?
No, IEC has lifetime validity. However, you must update your IEC details on the DGFT portal every year between April and June, even if there are no changes.
3. Can I export services without IEC?
IEC is required for service exports only if the service provider intends to avail benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy.
4. Is a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) mandatory?
Yes, for companies and LLPs, a Class 3 DSC is mandatory to sign the IEC application. For proprietorships, Aadhar authentication is also an option.
5. Can one entity have multiple IECs?
No, a PAN card can have only one IEC number. If you open new branches, they will operate under the same IEC.
